You are afraid of saying the wrong thing to others so you do not speak. When confronted with new people you must make a Will roll to overcome your shyness. If the other person is attractive, add their reaction bonus to your level when determining the number of successes needed. For example, Darla has a +4 reaction bonus due to her beauty. Jim is shy (level 5). He would have to roll 9 successes to speak to Darla. Depending on the other character’s personality the GM will assign a penalty or bonus to your reaction roll that is no greater than the amount you missed you will roll by. If Jim missed his reaction roll by 4 successes, the GM could give Jim a ±4 to his reaction roll for Darla. Darla thinks his shyness is "cute" so the GM rolls for Darla’s reaction to Jim and gives a bonus of +2.
