Description: Your sense of hearing is more acute than the normal person’s hearing.
Gameplay: Each level adds 1 bonus die when making any sound-based detection roll (TN=4).

Madeline has Quick=5 and Acute Hearing=4. An assassin is attempting to sneak up to her camp. All members of the group get a Quick roll (TN=4) to hear him. The assassin has Stealth=8. He gets 5 Ss on his Stealth roll, so for anyone to notice his approach, they must get at least 6 Ss. Madeline rolls her 9 dice (5 for Quick + 4 bonus dice for Acute Hearing). She gets her 6 Ss, so while the other group members are oblivious to the threat, Madeline hears the assassin and raises the alert.
