Magical Aptitude

Barbara is a skilled fire mage who uses several Fire runes at level 6. She also has Magical Aptitude=3. As a prelude to casting a spell, she needs to make a Skill roll (TN=4). She rolls 9 dice (6 for her Skill + 3 bonus dice for Magical Aptitude). She rolls well, and achieves 7 Ss, which is a very good start.
